Japanese tutoring for beginners (N5, N4)
Japanese tutoring is for beginners: hiragana, katakana, basic kanji and grammar up to JLPT N5 and N4 (roughly A1–A2). Lessons run online or in Ljubljana, €22 per 45 minutes. I am learning Japanese myself: I spent two months at a language school in Japan and am now preparing for N2.

Frequently asked
Before you write
How many hours do I need to reach N4?
From a complete beginner to N4 it is roughly 100–120 lesson hours, plus regular practice at home. At one lesson a week that is about two years, at two a week about one year. Reaching N5 takes roughly 55 hours.
Do I need to know any Japanese to start?
No. I teach complete beginners. We start with hiragana and first sentences.
What level can I reach with you?
I teach up to JLPT N5 and N4, roughly A1–A2. For higher levels I can help you pick materials and communities, but not teach regularly.
How long does it take to learn hiragana?
With 15–20 minutes of practice a day most people need 2–4 weeks. Writing by hand helps, not just looking.
