About me
I am Nik Jan Špruk. I like numbers, code and learning Japanese, and in my free time I bake cookies and train for an Ironman with my dog Kora.
Who I am
I graduated in Computer and Information Science (university programme) at the University of Ljubljana in 2025 and am now finishing a master's in Business Informatics at the School of Economics and Business Ljubljana. I still love coming back to maths, because it is the language almost everything I care about is written in.
I learn Japanese because I am fascinated by the language and culture. I spent two months studying at a language school in Japan and am now preparing for the JLPT N2 (July 2027). So I know very well what it is like to be a beginner when nothing makes sense yet.
How I teach
I believe we learn best when we understand why something works. So I ask more than I explain, and I am not afraid of mistakes. Mine or yours.
I do not promise miracles or top grades overnight. I promise to always be honest about what is realistic and what is not.
Outside of tutoring
I like steady routines and long-term goals, so in my free time I train for an Ironman, read and cook (chocolate chip cookies are my favourite). Most of the rest goes to Kora, my dog, who makes sure I get up from the computer regularly.
Why I do this
Because the best part is watching something click for someone. That moment when you say: aha, now I get it.
